Prayer and fasting guidelines
We’re asking as many people as possible in the church to take some time between 6pm on Friday June 27th and 6pm Saturday the 28th to pray and fast. We will be meeting at 5pm on Saturday for an hour of prayer and praise which will be followed by a BBQ so that we can all break our fast together. We believe that God is doing something great in our area and we want to put ourselves in a position where He can use us.
Below are some bullet points on how to pray and fast as well as topics that we can all pray about:
1) Be sensible when fasting, if you have a medical condition or are working then it may be a good idea not to do a total fast. Not watching TV or going without chocolate are also good alternatives.
2) Use the time that you would normally spend eating or watching TV to pray. Plan these into your diary.
3) You don’t need to pray for hours at a time. 10 or 15 minutes at a time is enough. God looks at our faith not the length of our prayers.
4) If you’re available why not get together with someone else and pray together.
Things to pray for:
1) Church growth. That we would see people saved and healed every week.
2) Leadership. That God would bless Dave and Joy and give them boldness, wisdom and faith
3) New building. That we would get the best possible price for the current building as quickly as possible and also find a new building.
4) Finance. That God would provide the money we need to do all the things that want to do.
5) Personal development. That each member of the church would grow spiritually stronger.
6) Influence. That LCC would have an impact in the community for the kingdom of God.
7) Anything else you want to.
